Background:
In July 2007, Manchester Business School approached Ascension with a view to raising its profile in Russia and attract more students from the region. Although the School has a very strong brand, Manchester Business School had a low media profile in Russia, especially in the key economic centres of Moscow and St Petersburg.
Goals:
To increase the school’s visibility in the Russian press
Ascension delivered:
- Six media trips in two years, with over thirty one-to-ones
- Launch of two scholarship
- Organise three students seminars, several roundtable lunches with alumni and journalists
- Over 100 pieces of media coverage since September 2006 in all the leading national and trade press and television, including case studies, news stories, byline articles, opinion pieces and features
- A return on investment of 634% (for every £1 spent on PR, the return was £6.34 in advertising space over the period September 2008 to May 2009
“Ascension quickly got up to speed with the corporate and programme requirements and were clear about the PR objectives. They bring ideas to the table and can visualise ways for us to improve. The comment made from our CEO was ‘we are now receiving a healthy amount of PR’ - I think it speaks volumes and I look forward to hearing his next comment.”
